Advisory Board Key Management
Our Advisory Board experience covers the oil and current biofuel industry, marketing & PR, fuel distribution & logistics, plant design, engineering & construction, operations and maintenance (O&M), insurance, research and development (R&D), start up and leadership/management. Several members have global company executive experience and all have local Florida experience and roots.
John R. Galloway is Chairman of Canopy Prospecting, Inc. and Senior Advisor to Trinidad Dehydration Company Limited (TDCL). TDCL is currently developing a $100M Ethanol Process Facility and Terminal in Trinidad, W.I. Mr. Galloway’s career spans over forty years. He is an attorney and has practiced public utility law and served as an Assistant United States attorney and as attorney for Gulf Oil Corporation. He served as Regional Vice President for Gulf Oil, consultant for Sun Oil Company (Sunoco), President of the Delaware Bay Transportation Company, a company jointly owned by major U.S. oil companies and as Manager of Public Affairs for the Chevron Corporation. He held several industry leadership positions, including chairmanship of the American Petroleum Institute sub-committee on Government Relations. Mr. Galloway resides in central Florida.
Rob McKeown is President of MSW, Inc. and provides design, construction and O&M services for the biofuel industry. Mr. McKeown’s experience spans over 40 years and he has been directly involved the biofuel industry for the past 20 years, in responsible positions including plant manager, operations manager and projects manager in advanced bio-fuel plants throughout America, including evaluation of plant sites, process technology and equipment procurement services. He is a consultant to E-Fuels in the development of their micro sized biofuel production unit and previously managed the central Florida process plant Viridus Energy will retrofit and re-commission. Mr. McKeown lives in central Florida.
David Stewart is President of Citrus Energy, LLC. Mr. Stewart has 22 years of experience in research & development and manufacturing operations. David has managed operations in multiple locations with 200 employees and P&L responsibility for $50M in revenue. For the past three years David has been exclusively working on the development of citrus waste as a biomass feedstock for advanced bio-fuel production. He has three patents pending: “Ethanol Production from Citrus Processing Waste;” “Method and Apparatus for Vacuum Cooling of High Solids Slurries;” and “Method and System of Treating Citrus Waste to Remove Peel Oil Components.” With a government grant, he built a pilot scale plant on USDA premises to process 1,000 gallon batches of citrus waste and then built a demonstration scale plant at a Florida Citrus Processor’s premises which processed 10,000 gallon batches of citrus waste. Mr. Stewart resides in south Florida.
Dr. John Thomas is a Professor at Florida Institute of Technology, Melbourne, FL. Dr. Thomas has been involved in advanced fuels research and has been actively involved in bio-fuels research and development for over 40 years. Dr. Thomas advises Viridus Energy on a wide range of feasibility opportunities and research/grant opportunities. Dr. Thomas has contacts throughout the state and university communities.
Bert Carrier is President of Florida Petroleum Services, Inc. They provide innovative, fuel management services for many petroleum distributors, including Exxon, 7-Eleven, BP and Texaco. Prior to joining Florida Petroleum Services, Mr. Carrier worked 29 years for the Global retail products maker, SC Johnson in Sales and Management, serving as Retail Area Director for the Eastern U.S. Mr. Carrier advises Viridus on the retail and wholesale fuel market, logistics, distribution and equipment. Mr. Carrier lives in central Florida.
Tim Bach is President of Patterson-Bach Communications, Inc., a full-service advertising, public relations and marketing firm. Founded in 1964, they provide a wide range of services for clients such as Universal Studios, International Speedway Corporation (parent of NASCAR), Holiday Inn and others. Mr. Bach leads the firm in strategic, integrated marketing. Mr. Bach and his firm will bring Viridus Energy into the public eye and help develop our unique brand of clean, green, local energy resources. Mr. Bach lives in central Florida.
Scott Ohmstede, CIC, is an Executive with Florida based Brown and Brown Insurance, one of the world’s largest independent insurance intermediaries in the nation. Mr. Ohmstede provides his key knowledge of insurance, surety and regulatory issues to see that Viridus Energy is well protected in our operations. Mr. Ohmstede lives in central Florida.
Dr. Naz Bashir is CEO of Algaecytes, Ltd. and brings over 10 years of years of business management experience with a proven track record of developing and implementing strategies that have delivered against stretch targets in UK, European and global markets. Extensive success in driving successful licensing and investment strategies in a range of functions from university spin-outs to regional start-ups in the UK through innovative thinking and focus on results. Dr. Bashir co-founded Biocaldol Limited, a bioethanol company where he held executive positions and during his tenure there he led the company to raise £2M seed capital through an EIS investment and corporate venture capital of £10M and went through significant growth stages to a point of a partial exit. He managed a university seed fund of £5M and brought value to the portfolio through exits and an IPO. He has extensive knowledge of the biofuels, chemical and food industries. Dr. Bashir has a Ph.D in chemistry and an MBA.
Dr. John C Dodd is Chief Technical Officer of Algaecytes, LTD and an international specialist in biotechnology working for over twenty years in sustainable plant and microbial production technologies, training scientists worldwide and successfully implementing projects from financial control to field application in the UK, Indonesia, the Philippines, China, South America and Africa. He graduated and obtained his Ph.D from the University of Kent at Canterbury. He established a world-renowned team and research centre on mycorrhizal fungi and is the co-author of more than 75 scientific publications in international journals. While working for a global charity company (UNESCO accredited) ‘The International Institute of Biotechnology’ he helped to raise public funds (£2 million) to establish a BioPharm Industry-focused training centre for young biotechnicians from around the world launched in 2007 at the Kent Science Park. He has worked with his fellow Directors since 2008 to develop the IP for Algaecytes from idea to IP generation.
